Privacy Policy — Vehicle app
På svenskaLast updated: 25 August 2026
This policy covers the Android app Vehicle app (package com.haelge.vehicleapp).
The app is a companion to the Snackis / HAELGE website and shares the same account and the same
server. For the full policy covering both, see the
main privacy policy.
Who is responsible
The app is developed and run by Christofer Hägg as a personal project, and he is the data controller. Contact: helge1337@live.com.
What the app collects
- Account details — the email address and password you sign in with. The password is sent to the server over HTTPS and stored hashed; the app never keeps it.
- Vehicle data — everything you enter about a vehicle: name, VIN, registration number, service and inspection dates, mileage, part numbers, fluid types and your own notes.
- Vehicle files — images and PDF documents you choose to attach to a vehicle. GPS coordinates and other hidden metadata are stripped from images before they are stored.
- Notification data — if you allow notifications, the app registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging and sends the server a registration token, an installation identifier the app generates itself, your device's model name and the platform. The installation identifier is a random value created on first use; it is not an advertising ID and cannot be linked to you across other apps.
The app does not collect location, contacts, photos beyond the files you pick yourself, advertising identifiers, or analytics about how you use it. There are no ads, no third-party SDKs for tracking, and nothing is sold to anyone.
Permissions the app asks for
- Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — to show service and inspection reminders. Optional; decline it and the app works as normal, minus reminders. - Internet and network state — to talk to the server, and to know when to sync work you did offline.
What is stored on your phone
- Sign-in tokens — kept in Android's encrypted storage so you stay signed in.
- A local copy of your vehicles — so the app works without a connection. Changes you make offline are queued and sent when the connection returns.
- An installation identifier — a random value used to keep notifications from arriving twice.
Signing out clears the tokens and the local copy. Deleting the account clears everything, on the phone and on the server.
Who the data is shared with
Only Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, and only to deliver notifications: the reminder text and your device token pass through Google's servers on the way to your phone. Google acts as a processor for that delivery and may handle it outside the EU/EEA, relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses in Google's terms.
Everything else stays on the service's own server in Sweden. All traffic between the app and the server runs over HTTPS.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all data belonging to it from inside the app:
- Open Account from the menu.
- Choose Delete account.
- Enter your password and type
DELETEto confirm.
The same thing can be done on the website under Personal data, and you can also email helge1337@live.com to have the account removed.
This permanently removes:
- your account, email address, nickname and profile picture
- every vehicle with its service records, inspection dates, part numbers and notes
- every file you uploaded, including the copies on the server's disk
- anything you posted or sent inside the service
- your notification registrations and every saved sign-in on all your devices
The deletion happens immediately. Nothing is retained afterwards and there is no backup to restore from, so export anything you want to keep first — the website's Personal data page provides a download.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. The main privacy policy describes each of them, and how to exercise them. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
This policy may be updated. Material changes are announced to registered users by email. Contact: helge1337@live.com.
